Launched by FTA last June to help advance President Biden’s ambitious GHG reduction goals, the Sustainable Transit for a Healthy Planet Challenge calls on transit agencies to develop strategies to reduce emissions, such as converting fleets to electric buses, making facilities more energy efficient, and generating power through renewable energy sources.

Kicking off this dynamic general session is the 2022 Bus Safety & Security Awards. The APTA Bus Safety and Security Excellence Awards, recognize bus systems in North America for their excellence in safety and security. Winning systems were chosen based on the innovation, effectiveness, benefits and transferability of their program or project.
